SUBSIDY SCHEME FOR EXPORT OF AGRICULTURE COMMODITIES BY SEA ROUTE

SUBSIDY SCHEME FOR EXPORT OF AGRICULTURE COMMODITIES BY SEA ROUTE

Transport subsidy of Rs. 50,000 for agricultural commodities exported to recently opened nations via container shipping.

The Maharashtra State Agriculture Marketing Board was considering a proposal to provide financial support to cooperative societies, farmer producer groups/companies, firms, exporters, and farmers for the direct export of fruits and vegetables (apart from grapes) if they are exported by sea route in containers, in an effort to increase the export of agricultural commodities grown in the state of Maharashtra. As a result, the Transport Assistance Scheme was introduced. It has chosen to set aside one crore rupees for the programme.

The purpose of this program is to encourage farmer producer companies’ and cooperative societies’ participation in agricultural export.

A subsidy of Rs. 50,000/-per container (20 feet/40 feet) will be given to Cooperative Societies, Farmer Producer Groups/Companies, Firms, Exporters, and Farmers who export certain agricultural commodities to the locations listed in the following table. A maximum of Rs. 1 Lakh would be given annually to each beneficiary.
